Scanditastic – Part Två

Happy Scando Saturday! Today we continue our schlager journey through scandipop with a couple more delicious songs set to get you all up and strutting with the rest of us!

First up is Velvet, a Swedish dance-pop singer who has had the honour of singing behind Schlager Diva Icon Carola herself, how very lucky! Here is her first release of 2011, “Lovestruck”:

Next up is September (what’s with all these scandos having random words as names?) who according to wiki was born to a “Slovenian mother with a musical past and a Swedish father who is a professor in space physics” – how very cosmopolitan! Her song “Me and my Microphone” has the kind of feel that a Schlager song would have if it were allowed on MTV, I mean you could almost think this was an American song – Shock! Here it is:

Lastly is another former Swedish Idol participant (2004) and Melodifestivalen 2011 entrant (hurrah) who goes by the stage name of Loreen. Her song “Sober”, starts as much but builts up to a lovely crescendo of sequin cannons and 12 inch heels (in my mind anyway). A tad whiny, but hell, I just took 2 minutes off to spin around pretending I was Swedish, fantastic!

❤ Tran-Ye.
